I have a shortlist of styles that I admire on other sisters but haven’t been bold enough to try myself: leather pants, strapless dresses and motorcycle jackets. Jumpsuits used to be on that list until I decided to give them a try a few years ago. I immediately discovered I had been missing out — big time.

Jumpsuits are the perfect piece to add to your wardrobe. Available in a variety of cuts, styles, fabrics and lengths, you can find a jumpsuit that highlights your curves, lengthens your legs, plays up the features you love or balances out the ones you don’t. They’re also versatile. Depending on the vibe you’re going for, a jumpsuit can often take you from day to night. Jumpsuits span seasons. They can transition from warm summer days to cool fall evenings. And they're ageless. Zendaya, Beyoncé, First Lady Michelle and Oprah have all been spotted rocking this timeless style.

But one of the best things about jumpsuits is that they offer one-and-done dressing. Just throw on some shoes and accessories (if you wish), and you’re all set to slay. What’s not to love about that?

So whether you’re a size 2 or 20, short or tall, and whatever occasion you’re dressing for — chilling at home, drinks with the girls or attending a wedding — you will look fierce and fabulous in a jumpsuit. Take a look at these nine — most from Black brands. Try one for some instant Black Girl Magic.
