Happy New Year! Now’s the perfect time to set resolutions that prioritize your health and well-being. For women over 40, balancing a busy life with personal health goals can be challenging. Make a commitment in 2025 to protect your health, ensuring you stay strong and vibrant for all the roles you play.

Here’s what the start of a healthy new year looks like.

1) Instead of mega resolutions, pursue “micro” goals
Don’t set yourself up to fail with sudden major changes. Instead, work toward small, attainable objectives. Try committing to regular exercise rather than vowing never to miss a day at the gym. Favor moderation over super-strict fad diets. Cut back slowly on late-night scrolling to get more rest. Each achievement will spark a sense of satisfaction that motivates you to keep going.

2) Book all your 2025 appointments now.
Half the battle with health care maintenance and preventative measures is slotting them into a jam-packed schedule. Get them into your calendar early, so you won’t have to think about them again until you’re on the way to the appointment.

Some exams to consider: A routine physical, a mammogram or pap smear, teeth cleaning, a colonoscopy, and a skin check at the dermatologist. You’ll feel better once you know you’ve got nothing to worry about.

3) Prevent illness through vaccination
Don’t let your good health get derailed by illness. Kick off the new year by getting this season’s flu and COVID-19 vaccines. They’re available at most pharmacies and you can even get both vaccines during the same appointment.

Make a resolution to risk less and do more by making smart choices that include getting this season’s flu and COVID-19 vaccines. You’ll launch the year on a healthy note and be in top shape to take on the year ahead.

Risk less. Do more. Get this season’s vaccines.
